For my new room, The Bayou: Legend of the Midnight Raven, I needed some dark, rich looking wood. Here’s how I went about doing it.
First I found some polystyrene at the local home store. Don’t use styrofoam, it just doesn’t work well.
Peel the foil off. This is a pain and can take a little while.
Using a piece of sandpaper, create a deep groove to make it look like planks of wood, and then make smaller, curvy lines like the grain of the wood.
Next use a screwdriver or something to just make some holes that will be knots in the wood.
Next time we will apply several layers of paint and it will really start to look like wood.
